Drawing a line!

I met with my Cambridge Consultant this evening and we drew a line under the blips. I feel positive about this, we had a really inspiring chat and she helped me put things into perspective, she's great because she knows how I like numbers and facts so she used this to really inspire me. Looking at a year's worth of dieting seems so daunting but she helped me see that just 150 days could see me lose up to 5.5stone! 150 days is a drop in the ocean in terms of the rest of my life.

"I am one step closer today than I was yesterday"

I weighed in and booked my appointment to see her next Thursday for my first weigh in. Now I need to really focus on getting the first week done, the first week is by far the hardest and as a carb addict I know how punishing this will be...It will be worth it. Totally worth it.

It's so easy to forget how good the feeling of buying smaller clothes is, or finding that you don't spill over the sides of furniture...or even being able to see your toes without having to do an extreme sport.

That is what I am going to focus on!

2014...My year!

I ran out of money last year, things got really bad with some income reduction, and the costs incurred from having a disabled child that destroys everything in his path when he has his epic meltdowns.

In the meantime, I remained conscious of what I was eating, and the amounts and really made an effort to say no to things I previously would have just shoved in my mouth. My weight therefore remains the same! Not great considering I want and need to lose weight, but fantastic considering Christmas and my Birthday occurred in December!

I have had some amazing news too, I have been selected to start university! My confidence on the day must have really shone through because inside I was hoping they weren't going to reject me on the basis of my weight, especially because it is such a physically demanding course, and career! I start THIS FEBRUARY! I am very excited with this new direction that my life is heading...However, I am also nervous because I am all too aware of how my size will influence my ability to succeed. I also know quite early on in the course, we will be having uniform fittings...EEK! Oh yes, the kind where you are expected to go behind screens to try on the samples. I hope they come up big enough otherwise it is going to be mortifying.

This in mind, I have started the Cambridge Weight Plan again today. Today is day 1, tomorrow I am meeting my Cambridge Consultant again so we have my weight recorded and ready.

For the first time, I feel excited. Taking off the fat suit will be great for my self esteem, and also for my training!

So day 1,

I have just reserved a Brita filter jug at Argos because I really need to make an effort to drink the 2.2 litres a day, I haven't chosen to drink tap water for about 10 years because it tastes disgusting, and filthy...so here's hoping this will help. I have been drinking mineral water until this point, but I am going to be a poor student shortly.

I have the Golden Vegetable drink flavour to add to the water as well as the Orange one should I start to feel that the water is too much.

Today so far, I have had the Spicy Tomato soup, it's a solid favourite of mine. Served in a mug as usual. I shortly plan to have a Mint Chocolate shake, and then later on I will drink another mug of soup (choice of Spicy Tomato or Mushroom).
